"I'm on cloud nine at the moment," he said.

"It was an unbelievable performance by the girls. I said before the game to have no regrets, give everything that they have got, and they did that and more.

"It was a fantastic game for a neutral to watch and I must pay credit to Wrockwardine Wood who contributed to a really good game.

"We have achieved our goals for the season in reaching a final, to play at the Greenhous Meadow for many including myself is a dream come true."

Town Ladies manager Sean Evans was proud with what the team has achieved.

Town Ladies also reached the final of the West Midlands Regional Women's Football League Division One North Cup on the Sunday the week before.

After a tight extra-time period, the game went to penalties with Daisy Bradshaw netting the winning spot-kick to give Town a 4-3 win on penalties as they set up a final clash with TNS Ladies (firsts) at Greenhous Meadow (date TBC).

Goals from Alex Morris and a piledriver from Danni Smith gave Town the lead in normal time, but Wrockwardine equalised on the 90th minute through an unfortunate own goal to make it 2-2.

Shrewsbury Town Ladies reached the Shropshire FA Women's County Cup Final after victory on penalties over Wrockwardine Wood on Sunday.
