Micky Mellon On Port Vale Clash

24 March 2016

Manager Wants To Keep Good Performances Going

“Every game is important to us. It doesn’t matter whether we play at home or away, the next one is the biggest game of the season, I keep saying that all the time,” said Micky.

“That’s how I approach the game, it has my full attention now as we have finished the last one.

“We worked hard towards it and we have brought stuff in that the players need to know about.

“We know we are in for a tough game but one that we are very much looking forward to and I look forward to taking part in the Easter programme.”

The manager went on to say that no matter who they play, all games until the end of the season are important to the club.

“I’ve said many times that it is about improving all the time, having a healthy happy football club that represents the people of Shrewsbury well,” said Micky.

“That’s what I’ve always been fully committed to do and that is why I’m here.”

Micky wants his side to continue to represent the people of Shrewsbury well.
“I keep saying we are continually improving,” said Micky.

“I wasn’t happy with the performance at all when we played over there last time, it was poor.

“It lacked many of the things that I want to have in my football team but we’ve moved miles on from there.

“We’ve improved a lot and hopefully we can go out on Friday and continue that improvement because that is what it is all about here.”

And Micky is hoping that his side’s good performances continue throughout the Easter break and wants to avoid a repeat
