Richie Wellens On Port Vale Clash

24 March 2016

Midfielder Wants To Keep Run Going

“It’s a game where we want another victory," said Wellens.

“We need to make sure we go full pelt and get the three points. If we can get the win, then it’ll be massive for us.

“Hopefully they’ll bring a good crowd. Good games always have a good away support- it makes for a good atmosphere.

"I think we’re showing a lot of belief at the moment.

“The manager has said that if we perform as we can do, get the basics right and we work and run as hard as the other team then it will show.

“Thankfully, in the last eight games we’ve shown that and we’ve climbed up the league.  We were in a tough situation but now we are in a much better position."

And Wellens believes Town have more to play for than their Vale counterparts as they go in search of another important three points towards securing League One status for next season.

Town take on the Valiants in the Sky Bet League 1 clash (3pm kick-off) looking to pickup up another important three points.

Midfielder Richie Wellens insists Shrewsbury have every chance of extending their unbeaten run when they host Port Vale on Good Friday.
