Programme named League 1 programme of the yearShrewsbury Town’s matchday programme Town Talk has come out top in the Football League’s vote for Sky Bet League 1 Programme of the Year.
It is great recognition to the programme which has been praised throughout the season by both Town supporters and those of the visiting teams.
The Football League award is voted on by the media teams of the other teams in the league so is a special award to receive.
The programme is a great team effort from the team of contributors and working with O Publishing to create a quality publication.
Shrewsbury Town’s media manager Ian Whitfield was honoured to pick-up a Football League award for the second season running.
“It’s a great honour to win the award especially as we have won one two years running but in different leagues”, said Ian.
“The award is special as it is voted on by the other media teams from the clubs in your division and they all understand the hard work that goes into producing any programme.
“We are lucky to have such wonderful writes and contributors here at Shrewsbury Town and it makes my job a very simple one.
“My part of this is generally just to cut and paste bits and pieces and then send them onto Matt Oliver our designer who then works his magic.
“At the start of the season our old CEO Matt Williams came to me with a few ideas and we then bounced some others around to come up with the final design and content for the programme. I then said to him ‘if you sign the invoice off I’ll make sure it happens’.
“I would also like to thank everyone at O Publishing for the help with this and for producing such a quality design for the programme.”
