"I’ve spoken to Richie about the situation and we’ve decided it is best if we make him available for a free transfer," said Micky.
"I get on very well with him and felt that it was best that he goes onto the next chapter of his career.
"Whether that be playing and coaching, it is worth him seeing what opportunities there are out there for him.
"It’s been great to have him at the club even for this short time but he needs to be playing and I can’t guarantee him that."
