Danny Coyne takes charge of Town for the first time following the departure of Micky Mellon in midweek. He makes four changes with Jayson Leutwiler, Joe Riley, Abu Ogogo and George Waring coming into the starting line-up.


It was a pretty level opening 5 minutes with both sides seeing a lot of the ball and looking to get forward quickly.


Town's best chance of the early exchanges came with just over 5 minutes on the clock when a throw came infield to Jim O'Brien, he controlled it well then turned his marker before laying it off to Ian Black, he hit in a low drive that fizzed in but was wide of the target.


Bradford were putting the pressure on but Town were defending well and Lancashire had a good clearance in the box, and then minutes later a delivery from Marshall into the box looked dangerous but Black had got back with an important diving header.


Town were awarded a free-kick after O'Brien was fouled right on the edge of the box, it was Toney who stood up and tried to get it over the wall but the wall did it's job and the ball flew downfield, Bradford picked up the ball and countered quickly, there were Bradford players queuing up and after a couple of blocks Laws got his shot in, and with a deflection it went past Leutwiler for 1-0.


Bradford nearly got a second goal when Bradford broke with numbers and got through the Town defence too easily, it ended with Morais skipping through Town defence and then trying to roll the ball home but luckily for Town Grimmer was there to get in and clear the ball.


Town picked up their first booking on the half-hour mark after Bradford continued to put the pressure on, the got possession back and looked to break with Laws, Black slid in to tackle but caught the Bradford man, ref Whitstone was showing Black the yellow card just as Laws was springing back to his feet.


With 5 minutes of the first half remaining Town created a good opening, the ball came infield for Toney who then found Riley out on the right, he got a decent delivery into the box to find Waring who got a header in but it was just wide of the goal.


Half-time : 1-0


The second half started with Danny Coyne making a change to his team with Antoni Sarcevic coming on to replace Jim O'Brien is a like for like change.


Town were trying hard to get the goal back and were getting some chances and putting pressure on to the Bradford goal. Waring did well to get the ball down and chest it down to Black, he went to shot but was fouled for a Town free-kick, it was Toney who tried to get it up and over but the wall did it's job.


Brown took the throw quickly to find Sarcevic, he turned infield and then played it across to find Black, he took a touch and then drove in a shot which Doyle in the Bradford goal well to tip the ball over the bar.


Town had a big shout for a penalty after Toney drove in a shot which seemed to hit a Bradford hand, there were big shouts from the Town players and fans but ref Whitestone was on the spot and saw nothing a miss.


Bradford picked up a couple of bookings in quick succession, the first for Marshall after he had caught Brown when he tried to break down the wing, then after Leutwiler had collected the ball well he tried to release it quickly and was caught by Hiwula who got a booking for his troubles.


Leutwiler cleared the ball long downfield to find Toney, he did well to head it down in front ot Sarcevic and he hit a lovely first time shot that fizzed just over the Bradford bar.


Town were getting a lot of free-kicks around the edge of the Bradford box and were putting a lot of pressure onto the homeside's penalty area. This time it was Joe Riley who was fouled after a good run infield from the touchline, it was Black who took the kick this time lifting it into the box and El-Abd got his head to it but it was wide of the goal.


Town got the ball in the back of the net after a nice move from saw Black play the ball to Toney he turned his marker before threading a ball into the to put Sarcevic in on goal, he took it past Doyle and turned the ball home but the flag had already been raised for offside.


Danny Coyne made his final change on the stroke of 90 minutes bringing on Andy Mangan to replace Ian Black as Town looked to get the goal they probably deserved for the second half display.


It was Bradford who got the next goal in the game it came after Knight-Percival drives into the box and Sarcevic is adjudged to have fouled him, it was Vukic who placed the ball and his shot was the opposite way to Leutwiler's dive to make it 2-0.
