Community Soccer Schools prove a great success

This October Half Term Shrewsbury Town in the Community delivered their Soccer Schools to children in Shrewsbury and Ludlow.

On Thursday children at the Shrewsbury Soccer School were very fortunate to have a visit from Shrewsbury Town captain Adam El-Abd who volunteered his time to speak to the children and sign autographs.

Adam is currently undertaking his UEFA A Licence and during his visit spent time coaching the children on the art of defending, the children thought it was great!

Before the start of the Soccer Schools, Shrewsbury Town in the Community ran a Facebook competition for those who had booked online for the Soccer Schools, the more days you booked, the better chance you had of winning a signed STFC football. We ran this competition at our Shrewsbury and Ludlow locations.

The winners of the signed footballs were Oscar Wincott, aged 8 and Will Brown, aged 8. Congratulations you two!

On the final day of the Soccer Schools at Shrewsbury, the children took part in our Tournament and Challenge day.

The groups were put into their teams and during the day they would accumulate points for their team for showing good skills, team work and sportsmanship.

The Champions League tournament was contested by Valencia, Man City and Arsenal and Skills Challenges consisted of Crossbar Challenge, Nothin’ but Net and Target Shot.

The scores from the youngest and oldest groups were put together and the eventual winners were Manchester City.

Our Soccer Schools will be back just in time for Christmas so book your place today at www.officialsoccerschools.co.uk/shrewsburytown
