Community Development Passed

13 April 2017

Councillors vote in favour of changes to allow community pitch

Shropshire Council's central planning have this afternoon passed the application to build community facilities at the Greenhous Meadow.

The application to build a Lidl supermarket has also been passed as has the variation of the 106 to be moved to the new community pitch behind the Salop Leisure Stand.

The three applications were before the planning committee this afternoon and all have been passed which means the development of the community facilities and the Lidl development can now start.

Town's CEO Brian Caldwell was at the meeting and is pleased that the plans have finally got the green light.

"I would like to thank the councillors for their support in this and for passing the motions", said Brian.

"It has been a long process but we have finally got it over the line.

"It's good to finally get it all approved not only for Lidl's sake but also it allows provision of the community pitch for the local people."

More on this later.
