Next season’s replica kit not on sale at Southend game
Town’s new Errea kit for the 2017/18 season won’t be on sale ahead of Saturday’s game with Southend United.The plan was for the kit to go on sale for the last home game of the season but with discussions still ongoing with new shirt sponsors this won’t be possible.
Greenhous announced earlier this year that they would not be renewing their sponsorship deal and discussions have been ongoing since then with prospective new shirt sponsors.
Town CEO Brian Caldwell revealed that with the sponsor deal not in place yet it wouldn’t be possible.
“We had hoped that the new sponsor would be able to be in place by now but we are still in discussions with a number of interested parties”, said Brian.
“We will have the new kit out once we have the sponsor on it as well so it’s important that we tie up all the loose ends at the same time.
“Errea would have had the kit ready but it’s important that it goes on sale with the sponsor on it as it is a replica of what we are wearing.
“It’s unfortunate that it won’t be on sale but it’s important to get everything sorted and get it on sale as soon as we can.”
