Season Ticket Deadline Soon

12 April 2017

1600 sold so far ahead of Saturday deadline

Early Bird season tickets sales are going well with over 1600 sold so far by mid Wednesday afternoon.

It was announced that Season Ticket prices would be frozen for the 2017/18 season and sales have been good since they first went on sale on March 1st.

Over the last few days sales have started to pick up as fans get the message that the Saturday 15h April deadline won’t be extended this year.

Town CEO Brian Caldwell is pleased with sales with over 100 tickets sold since the start of Wednesday and more being bought every hour.

“We are continuing to be busy in the ticket office which is good news and we thank everyone who has already renewed”, said Brian.

“The deadline hits on Saturday and we’ve extended it this season until April 15th but we won’t be extending it.

“The message we want to get out to people is that we won’t extended it beyond the 15th.

“The ticket office is open before and after the Walsall game and then again on Saturday morning between 9am and 12 noon, and people can renew anytime online.”

In previous year’s Early Bird deadlines have been extended but Brian has been clear since this year’s prices were announced that the 15th would be the deadline.

“We hope the message has got out and we’ve spoken to the guys in the Supporters Parliament and they have been getting the message out as well”, said Brian.

“The deadline is a deadline and I’ve not understood why in previous years it kept getting extended.

“This year we have made the deadline the 15th so that it covered people who are paid at the end of the month and those who are paid in the middle of the month.”

Once the 15th deadline has passed season tickets then go into the next period of discount which runs until 24th June.

“It still a good price and the initial Early Bird offer is a good price with tickets working out at around £12 per game for an adult”, said Brian.

“It ends after the league fixtures are released so gives supporters that chance to check the dates and make sure they can get to the games.

“You normally find somewhere in the region of two thirds of season ticket holders will have bought in the Early Bird period.

“It would be great to surpass or get similar numbers of season ticket sales as we did last season.

“People can see what Paul has done in his time here and he’s improved the team on the park.  If you look at the points that have been picked up since Paul came in and if you take that percentage over the whole season then we would be safe by now.”

The ticket office will be open before and after the Walsall game and between 9am and 12pm on Saturday 15th and online sales will continue until midnight that evening.

Season tickets are now on sale from the ticket office at the Greenhous Meadow, over the phone on 01743 273943 or online https://www.eticketing.co.uk/shrewsburytownfc/
