With the new season back up and running we will once again follow how our players are getting on away from the club.

There are currently two players on loan with Dom Smith joining Southport and Shaun Rowley joining Tamworth, both of whom are in the Vanarama National League North.

This weekend saw conflicting results for the two loanees. Dom’s first start at Southport couldn’t have gone better as they beat Boston United 4-0. Dom formed part of a back three that were rarely troubled as goals from Steven Schumacher, Liam Martin, Curtis Jones and Gary Roberts gave the Lancashire coast side an easy win.

Meanwhile, it was late heartache for Shaun Rowley’s Tamworth side. Rowley only joined up with the Lambs last week, but was straight into the starting line-up and it looked as if he would keep a debut clean-sheet until the 97th minute when Tamworth failed to clear the danger and Adam Boyes rifled in a shot off the post to condemn Tamworth to a 1-0 defeat.
