Marcus Braddock takes his look at tonight's game

This week sees plenty of football available for Shrewsbury Town fans to think about and my first thought goes to Coventry City because that's who we're playing on Tuesday night.

The game will be at their stadium and is the start of our Checkatrade Trophy campaign. Paul Hurst is a former winner of this competition as a player in 1996 with Rotherham and he's definitely taking this one seriously.

I can imagine both clubs taking this quite seriously as Coventry are the current holders. Coventry are not in the best form at the moment with three defeats from five games in all competitions. They've also not won since the opening day of the season and have suffered two home defeats on the bounce.

Top Scorer
With half of Coventry's goals to his name so far, Jodi Jones signed for the Sky Blues in July 2016 after a successful loan period from his previous club Dagenham where he was a youth player before making almost 100 appearances. He scored his first goal for Coventry in an EFL Trophy tie against Northampton Town in  October 2016 and has so far scored three times this season.

Clean Sheets
One at home and one away.

Failed to score

Prediction
Going for 2-2 draws every time seems to be working well so I won’t change that until we lose. I have a feeling we may be up against it tonight, yes Cov are stuttering a little form wise and they may be the team from the lower division but this trophy is their only silverware for three decades so they may need encouragement to loosen their grip on it. We're looking quite good at the moment and I'm hoping we can continue that tonight and do well in this competition.
