Annual Carol Concert takes place at Shrewsbury Abbey
The annual Shrewsbury Town Carol Concert took place at Shrewsbury Abbey last night and it was a great evening.
All parts of the football club were involved in an evening, which is always a great lead up to Christmas.
It was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit with carols and readings in the beautiful setting of Shrewsbury Abbey.
This year saw the welcome return of “Of One Accord”, the Shropshire mixed voices choir, who brought some festive favourites to life and provide some well-earned Christmas cheer.
People heard about some of work of Shrewsbury Town in the Community, including their work with The Shrewsbury Ark who helps those who are more vulnerable in Shrewsbury at Christmas time and throughout the year.
Town CEO Brian Caldwell took one of the readings and was happy with the service.
“It was a great evening and so good to see so many people at the Abbey to help the club celebrate Christmas”, said Brian.
“Events like this help to bring together all the parts of the club and the supporters which is a very important thing for me.
“I was happy to do one of the readings, though I did ask the club chaplain to provide subtitles just in case a few couldn’t understand me.
“I would like to thank the Rev Phil Cansdale for organizing the evening, as well as the choir, all at Shrewsbury Abbey and everyone who helped on the evening.
“It was a lovely way to prepare for Christmas and I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all Town supporters, their family and friends a very happy Christmas.”
