Town Drawn Home To West Ham

4 December 2017

Third Round draw sees Premier League West Ham travel to Shrewsbury

The draw for the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup has taken place and Town have been drawn home to West Ham United.

The draw took place at Hereford FC’s Edgar Street stadium and Glenn Hoddle pulled Town’s ball number 50 out of the hat.

The game is scheduled to be played the weekend of the 6th January, meaning the game home to Gillingham will be re-arranged.

There are some connections between the two clubs with manager David Moyes playing over 100 games for Town, while keeper Joe Hart progressed through the youth ranks with Town playing over 50 times before moving onto Manchester City.

David Moyes was also manager of Everton on the day Town beat The Toffee’s 2-1 on the 4th January 2003, one of our best FA Cup victories.

Town manager Paul Hurst is looking forward to the game, but the focus will remain on the upcoming league and CheckaTrade games.

“Having been drawn at home we hope that the game will be a sell out and it’s a nice reward for the fans” said Paul.

"When that game comes around we know we will have to be at our absolute best to have any chance of causing an upset.

"It is something to look forward too in the New Year but we have a lot of games to concentrate on first."

Full ticket details will be released as soon as the date of the fixture is confirmed.
