Niall Ennis Recalled

28 December 2017

Niall Ennis returns to Wolves

Young Wolves Striker Niall Ennis has been recalled by his parent club, ending his loan-spell with Shrewsbury Town.

Ennis featured twice at the start of the season before suffering a serious knee injury, which has kept him out for the last few months.

Niall has been undergoing treatment with the Molineux based club and they have decided to recall him on a full-time basis.

Town boss Paul Hurst explained the decision.

“I think with the injury and his previous injury record they just want to be very careful with him”, Paul told ShrewsWeb.

“I certainly wouldn’t want to put a player under any pressure to get back sooner or maybe I would want him to train at a certain level and Wolves might not want that, so it’s been agreed that he will go back.

“I certainly wish Niall well. I just think it’s better for him that he can take it slightly slower and they can monitor him and see when it’s right for him to go back into that Under-23s squad.

“He’s still a very young player with lots of time on his side and his health and fitness come first, so we felt that that was the best thing to do all round.”

The club would like to thank Niall for his hard work and dedication during his time at Shrewsbury.
