Town on TV in FA Cup

7 December 2017

West Ham game live on the BBC

Shrewsbury Town's game against West Ham United in the FA Cup will be shown live on the BBC.

The game will now take place on Sunday 7th January with a 2pm kick-off.

It’s an exciting draw for Shrewsbury, which sees them pit their wits against Premier League opposition, whilst it also sees the return of former players David Moyes and Joe Hart.

Town boss Paul Hurst was pleased that the game will be live on TV and believes it is a good opportunity to show people what a good club Shrewsbury Town is.

“It obviously brings a financial reward for the club”, said Paul.

“It’s also good for the players in terms of getting the opportunity to show that they are decent players and that we are decent team, albeit that it will be a tough challenge against West Ham.

“We know why it has been picked because they feel like it is one that has a chance of creating an upset and we will have to do everything we can to make that happen.

“It adds something a little bit special and certainly puts us on a much wider audience for people to see us as a team and as a football club.

“Any publicity is good and I’m sure we will be good hosts as a club and hopefully on the pitch we can put on a good performance.”

Ticket details are yet to be finalised and we will be announcing these in due course.
