Ethan Jones joins Stourbridge

Striker joins the Glassboys on a month long loan deal

Shrewsbury Town can confirm that Ethan Jones has joined Stourbridge on a one month loan deal.

Jones has made eight appearances for Town this season, mostly from the bench, and also enjoyed a short loan spell with Tranmere Rovers.

Recent additions to the squad has seen Ethan move down the pecking order and Paul Hurst wants Jones to go and get some game time.

“He’s a young player that needs to go and play some football”, Paul told ShrewsWeb.

“I think when I first came in he was out on loan at Tranmere. That loan realistically didn’t work out, so I think sometimes you need to take a step back.

“He made a couple of appearances for myself off the bench, but now with the strength in depth we’ve got he’s finding it hard to get football at the minute here, so I wanted him to go out and get games again.

"I think he needs to learn. I think looking at Ethan some players are more receptive on the training ground, take things in easier, others perhaps have to play games to get the knowledge and knowhow and I think Ethan probably fits into that category a bit more.

“Everyone’s different and we’ve seen how Kaiman went out to that league, did extremely well, and he’s had more people interested in him than any other player and I want Ethan to get back to that.

“He’s gone for a month initially, we will see how it goes, but ultimately it’s about him playing, scoring goals and then there may be a different option for him, but we will monitor that.”
