Paul Hurst nominated for Sky Bet League One Manager of the MonthShrewsbury Town boss Paul Hurst has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month for January.
Town won twice and drew twice in January as they moved away from the relegation zone.
Paul admitted it was nice to be recognised, but praised the players for their efforts over the last month.
“I was told about it yesterday and I guess it’s nice, but it only shows for me that the team have been getting results,” Paul told ShrewsWeb.
“Other than that I’m not suddenly going to decide that I’m not going to turn up to training or change anything.
“If I’m nominated for something like that a couple more times between now and the end of the season then I guess we all know we will be fine, so that would be the aim.
“I’m just the name that gets out there I suppose, but it is about the players and what they are doing on the training ground and ultimately what they are doing on the pitch.
“It’s only a nomination as well and I think there might be a couple of nominees with a stronger case of actually getting the award for the month.”
Paul faces competition from Graham Alexander (Scunthorpe United), Robbie Neilson (MK Dons) and Uwe Rosler (Fleetwood Town) for the award.
