Goals from Roberts and Ladapo give Town the win

Paul Hurst makes the one change from the side that started in the draw away to Gillingham last weekend with Freddie Ladapo dropping down to the bench and Stefan Payne coming into the starting line-up for his Town debut.
It was a pretty even opening 5 minutes with both sides looking to get the ball moving quickly and take the early advantage.
Bury looked dangerous when attacking but the Town defence were doing the work needed to keep the visitors away from the danger areas.
Stefan Payne's début only lasted 10 minutes, Whalley played the ball out to Payne who had moved to the byline but Stefan pulled up with a problem with his right leg. Physio Chris Skitt came on to attend but it became apparent that Stefan's début was over and Freddie Ladapo came on to replace.
The game was getting interesting with some strong challenges and tackles going in and it was Jermaine Pennant who picked up the first booking after going through the back of Tyler Roberts. Moments later Town picked up their first booking, Junior Brown looked to have been caught but ref England saw nothing wrong and Bury countered, Deegan came across and did enough to snuff out the break, and picked up a booking for his troubles.
Town were keeping the ball well and it came back to Brown who then drove for goal, he span his marker on the edge of the box and got a shot in but it saw over the Bury bar.
Town were continuing to press and the ball was with Riley, he drilled it into the feet of Ladapo in the box and he turned his marker before cutting it back into the danger area for Roberts but his shot was saved by Lainton.
The chances were still dropping for the home side and when the ball came to Whalley he drove in on goal on the angle, he put in a decent low shot but Lainton down again with a good save but no one was there to turn the lose ball home and it was put behind for a corner.

There were no changes at the break and Town were in front with only a couple of minutes of the game gone. It came after Junior Brown did well on the left, he cut past Moore and then drove into the box before cutting it back to Roberts who hit in a low shot, Lainton was down and got a hand to it but couldn't keep it out.
Bury had a chance to level things up minute later following good work out wide from Pennant, he swung the ball into danger area and it dropped for Pope, but he couldn't get anything on it and Town managed to bundle the ball behind for a corner.
Town were creating some good openings and were looking to get forward quickly, Roberts was showing what he was about, pace and determination , and held the ball up well, he put it wide to find Whalley who then burst into the box before driving a ball across the face of goal, Ladapo slid in and connected but he put his shot wide of the post from close range.
Junior Brown was doing well down the left and had the beating of his markers when he got into the one on one situations, he did this with Moore when quick feet from Brown saw him get free in the box, he cut it back to set-up Ladapo who drove in a good looking shot but it was blocked and Bury then cleared their lines.
With 64 minutes on the clock Paul Hurst made his second change of the game with Stephen Humphrys coming on to replace Alex Rodman, with Humphrys going out onto the left of the midfield.
Bury were looking to break but Ogogo nicked in and came away with the ball, he drove for the Bury box and then looked to drill a shot in on goal but it was deflected behind for a Town corner. The ball was swung into the back post and there was Nsiala rising high to loop a header back towards goal but Vaughan was on the goal-line to head the ball away and deny Town a second goal.
Town's pressure paid off on 77 minutes when the ball came to Roberts in the box, he did well to keep possession and then set-up up Ladapo who then drove in a great shot that flew past Lainton to make it 2-0 to Town.
Moments later Ladapo looked to have another good chance, a long ball from Ogogo was Ladapo challenging his markers and then have a run in on goal but there was a clear pull back by Leigh but the officials didn't see it and the chance was gone.
With just under 10 minutes remaining Paul Hurst made his final change with Bryn Morris coming on to replace goalscorer Tyler Roberts who left the field to a standing ovation.
Bury grabbed a goal back with 4 minutes remaining, Town defended a free-kick well but Ladapo didn't clear and Bury put the ball back into the box, Leutwiler came for it but couldn't get through the cluster of players and the ball dropped to Mellis and he drove it home to make a nervy end to the game.
In the closing minutes Town continued to get the chances to counter attack with Ladapo getting into some great positions ably supported by the likes of Morris and Whalley. But in the end it was a performance that saw Town see the game out for an important win against a side who sit below them in the table.
