Shrewsbury Town in the Commity's Christmas Soccer Schools prove a huge success
This Christmas Shrewsbury Town in The Community held their three day Soccer Schools – and they were a huge success, with 130 children taking part!Taking place on the Powerleague pitches next to Greenhous Meadow, participants got stuck into a tournament challenge on day one – where FC Porto were crowned as our Champions League winners.
Our FA Cup tournament saw Sutton United FC take the title, beating Manchester City and Eastleigh FC on the way!
Day two was dedicated to goalscoring and the Children were given some tips from Town players when Gary Deegan and Jack Grimmer joined in on the sessions!
Players had the chance to learn more about the players with a Q+A, before receiving their very own player cards signed by Jack and Gary!
The final day saw another tournament challenge take place, but this time the matches took place in the Community Hub – as the players went head to head on Fifa!
We concluded the soccer schools with an awards presentation, where manager medals were awarded to the children who really impressed the coaches over the three days.
Alex, Charlie and Otto were named players of the day, with Ameiria, Aaron and Elliot receiving our team player medals!
Sam, Alex and Dylan were also picked by the coaches as role models of the week, so a big well done to all of you, and to everyone who took part!

Shrewsbury Powerleague - 20th February to the 23rd of February - The week will include a Stadium Dodgeball Tournament and the Ultimate Skills Challenge, with the winners taking part in our final on the Greenhous Meadow at half time v Coventry 4th March.
