Gaffer pleased as Aristote Nsiala has his red card rescinded
Shrewsbury Town are pleased to announce that Aristote Nsiala’s red card has been rescinded.Toto picked up the card against Swindon Town in a challenge which also saw the Town man give away a penalty.
The FA made the decision to rescind the card with immediate effect on Tuesday after reviewing the footage.
Town Manager Paul Hurst was pleased that Toto would now be available but was looking to move on quickly from the incident.
“I’m pleased for myself and football club, but I am particularly pleased for the player because it would have been a long time training with no game to look forward to, having just joined us as well", Paul told ShrewsWeb.
“I respect that it’s not easy being a referee, I totally understand that, but as I said at the time I genuinely thought he’d got the ball and when we looked at the footage that was clear.
“My fear was that they’d think it was just too stronger tackle, but for me it’s got to be a strong tackle. I don’t think I’ve ever heard that they do want to take tackling out of the game, so I’m really pleased that the panel have looked at it and come to the same thought as ourselves.
“We’ve done what we can in terms of the decision, we’re really pleased with the decision and we can move forward now. We have to move forward. You can’t keep looking back at these things, certainly not at this moment in time anyway.”
