Adams Pleased With Game

10 July 2017

A good week in Portugal ends with a win against Ebbsfleet

Town finished their training week in Portugal with a win against Ebbsfleet United.

The 90 minutes saw all the available Town players get a run out and it was the first time Ebou Adams got to pull on the blue and amber of Town.

The combative midfielder had picked up a slight knock earlier in the weeks training but was fine once it came to game day.

Ebou got to play the first 45-minutes of the game and was pleased to get game time.

“I found it good to be fair and it was great to pull on the Shrewsbury Town shirt “, said Ebou.

“I thought I played really well and it’s good to get some minutes under my belt so we will see where that takes me.”

It was the first game that Town have played during pre-season but the reaction to the game time was good.

“The body feels good to be fair”, said Ebou.

“We’ve had a good week in Portugal working hard with Skitty and the other coaches.

“I knew a few of the Ebbsfleet players so I had an idea how they would play so I used that against them.”

The trip to Portugal was planned to get the new look Shrewsbury Town side to get to know each other as well as put in a week of hard work.  As one of the new faces the Norwich loanee has been made welcome.

“The boys are all welcoming so that’s the best thing about It.” said Ebou.

“The team management and the players are all good and that helps you settle in quicker, and once you settle in quick you can do anything.”

The game was a good way to end a productive week away for Town and win thanks to goals from John McAtee and Louis Dodds.  Adams had a good chance to score but the post denied him.

“It’s always good to win a game no matter what level, I could have got a goal but it wasn’t to be”, said Ebou.
