Ogogo and Sadler to captain side
Paul Hurst has revealed who his captains will be for the upcoming Sky Bet League One Campaign.
He has confirmed that Abu Ogogo will be team captain while Mat Sadler will be club captain. Both wore the armband last season with Sadler taking it up while Ogogo was injured but when Abs returned he once again took the armband.
Abu Ogogo has worn the armband many times during his time with Town but has never started the season being named captain.
Town manager Paul Hurst explained his thoughts behind what was an easy decision for him.
“Abs will be captain of the team, there’s not question in my part about that, and Sads will be club captain “, said Paul.
“I’ve come to the decision from working with them last season
“Off the pitch Sads is excellent for the group, all the things that fans don’t see off the pitch are important to me and he’s a great ambassador for the club.
“He organises the lads fantastically, whether that be the community, getting together to go for some food, he’s got a great manner about him and totally respected by the rest of the players.
“Abs leads by example but has also shown that he is a better player than some people might give him credit for.
“Out on the pitch he leads not only by his own performance but also by pulling people around and giving instruction out.
“They have both been here a little while and that is good in a new group but they are both mature heads out there and that will benefit the group.”
