Local firm aim to improve matchday catering
As the new season approaches at Shrewsbury Town Football Club, Shropshire based MPM Catering are getting settled in as the newly appointed caterer at the Stadium.
Based at Battlefield Enterprise Park, MPM are well used to feeding large crowds on their journey around the country at live events. The team have worked at BT Murrayfield Stadium catering for The Six Nations Championship, PRO12 2016-17 and EPCR Challenge Cup and Championship Finals.
They have recently returned from the prestigious RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows and Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials with around 160,000 visitors expected over a four day period at the beginning of September is also on their calendar of events.
Managing Directors and brothers Mark and Paul Morris explain "We are so pleased to have this opportunity to work in our home town. This year our family are celebrating 50 years in the mobile catering business, having started by selling ice-cream in Shrewsbury Quarry all those years ago. Trends and tastes may have changed but our vision to serve great tasting food fast to satisfy a crowd remains unchanged."
Mark, Paul and their team wish Shrewsbury Town much success in the upcoming season and look forward to employing local people and feeding the fans.
MPM will takeover the running of the concourse at the Montgomery Waters Meadow and the concessions in the FanZone. Town and MPM have worked together in the past with the recent Sir Rod Stewart seeing MPM supply all the external catering for the event.
Town’s CEO Brian Caldwell is looking forward to the new partnership; “We are delighted to have Shrewsbury company, MPM on board for the new season who’s expertise is venue catering and we are sure that the fans will be pleased with the standard of fare on offer at The Montgomery Waters Meadow.
“The Club have carried out the concourse catering for the past two years internally and whilst it has been far more profitable for the Club this deal allows us to continue to receive the financial levels but also offers a better selection from a local and experienced company who have done so many events at prestigious venues all over the UK.
“MPM operated the outside catering at our recent Rod Stewart concert which got very good feedback and we look forward to working closely with them in the season ahead.
“We’ve listened to the feedback from fans and the supporters parliament and think working with MPM will help improve the matchday experience.”
