Town youth team take on Shawbury United at Ludlow
Town make their debut in this seasons Shropshire Senior Cup when the youth side travel to Ludlow to take on Shawbury United.
Shawbury beat 2-0 Haughmond in the previous round to book a second round tie with Town. The game will be played at Ludlow Town’s stadium, which is now the home of Shawbury as well.
It will be a Town youth team, which plays on the night but Town manager Paul Hurst, is keeping his options open as to whether any first team players are involved.
“We will see how we go this week but I’d expect a few of the first year pros to be involved.
“Possibly some of them will be involved because I want the players not to be missing out on minutes and if I think that playing is the right thing to do then I’m certainly not against that.
“It’s about seeing where we are at really because ultimately we need to have the players fit. There were a couple of lads today that were complaining about a little bit of stiffness and worrying about things, they all got through training okay, but we have got to be careful.
“Certainly, defensively there’s no secret that we need to make a couple of signings and if we were to lose another one or even worse two, then we would really be up against it in that area.”
Admission prices on the night at Ludlow Town are £5 for adults, £3 concessions and £1 for U16s.
