Some long trips next season for Town
With the Sky Bet League One fixtures out the planning can now start for next season.
One thing that is noticeable is the amount of travel that Town will have around the country next season.
With Port Vale, Coventry and Chesterfield all dropping out of the division it now means trips to Doncaster Plymouth and Portsmouth as well Blackburn, Wigan and Rotherham.
It is another part of the match preparation that Town manager Paul Hurst and his coaches will have to take into consideration.
“We lost a couple of close trips last season and the teams who have come up, especially Portsmouth and Plymouth are a long, long travel”, said Paul.
“On a personal note the addition of Doncaster and Rotherham are much easier for myself, but not the closest of journeys for everyone else.
“Walsall is the nearest in terms of locality and that would have been good for a Christmas game, but it’s not to be.
“We will have to plan for the games and plan the recovery and make sure we get there at the right times to give the players the best chance of performing.”
Next season Town’s travels will see Walsall as the closest trip and Plymouth Argyle the furthest.
