Town Travel To Brackley

July 11th sees Town travel to Conference North side

Shrewsbury Town will travel to Conference North side Brackley Town for the first game of their pre-season games.

He game will be played on Tuesday 11th July with a 7pm kick at Brackley’s St James Park stadium.

Town already have games home to Aston Villa, Wolves, Cardiff City and Burton Albion as well as a trip to AFC Telford as part of their pre-season games programme.

Town manager Paul Hurst had spoken about wanting another game or pre-season and this one fits the bill.

“We’ve got the game a while we are away in Portugal but in terms of when we are back from there this will be the first game”, said Paul.

“It will be a game against good opposition, they are Conference North which is a good league and Brackley have got some good players.

“They had a good run themselves in the FA Cup not so long ago so that shows they are a good side.

“It was the type of game I wanted and it will be a tough one to get us under way.”

The Town players return to the training ground next Friday to start pre-season training. It will be nearly eight weeks since the season finished but the time has flown by.

“It seems to have come around very quickly, although we finished a week earlier than some other leagues times has flown by”, said Paul.

“I’m ready to get back into it now, there is still work going on in the background to add to the squad.

“We still need more numbers in and that will continue but the ones who are signed up will be in next week and let the hard work begin.”
