Town set to take on AFC Telford United on 14th MarchShrewsbury Town are set to face AFC Telford United in the final of the Shropshire Senior Cup on Tuesday 14th March.
The date had been set for the 4th April but has been moved forward due to the rearrangement of the game against Millwall.
The game will kick-off at 7:30pm at the Greenhous Meadow and ticket details will follow in due course.
Town will be looking to win the competition for the third consequtive season having beating their local rivals on penalties in last season’s competition.
Town boss Paul Hurst admits that it will be a chance for some of the players on the periphery of the first team to see some match action.
“I will use it to play quite a few of the lads that haven’t had as many minutes”, said Paul.
“We haven’t had a reserve side, so it’s a game where we might be able to top of few guys up, depending on what’s happened between now and then with injuries.
“Look at Jack Grimmer who went back to Fulham and then played the game on Saturday and in terms of fitness he was up and down the pitch all game long really.
“I’ve asked the Chairman and Brian whether there is some kind of bonus for winning it, but they don’t seem too happy with that one, so I will have to wait and see if we can do something in another competition.”
