Arthur Gnahoua Signs

Young Forward joins from Kidderminster Harriers

24 May 2017

Shrewsbury Town are delighted to announce the signing of 24-year old striker Arthur Gnahoua from Kidderminster Harriers.

Arthur joins on a one year deal with an option of a second year and becomes Paul Hurst’s first signing of the Summer Transfer Window.

Gnahoua has spent the last season and a half at National League North side Kidderminster Harriers, scoring 15 goals last season, and he is looking forward to making the step up to League One Football.

“Obviously coming from a lower league to League One is going to be a good experience for me, so I’m looking forward to that”, said Arthur.

“I just hope that I can do as well as I did last season and I hope the manager can give me a chance as well.

“I had a really good season with Kidderminster. Unfortunately, we didn’t get promoted, but it was a good team for me to be at and a good experience for me.”

Standing at 6ft 2, Arthur is a powerful forward who is capable of playing as a number 9, number 10 or from the left hand side.

“I just like to get on the ball and try and score a few goals,” Gnahoua said.

“I’m strong and I like to turn and get at players. If I start getting used to it and get a few goals then hopefully it will be as good as last season.

“Hopefully I can get the chance to prove that I can play at this level. It’s going to be hard work and a faster tempo than before, but I’ve just got to get used to it.”

Gnahoua met Town boss Paul Hurst last week and he is excited about getting his first opportunity to play in the Football League.

“I came to see the manager last week and he told me that I can do well in this league and I believe in that.

“He’s a good guy and for him to believe that I can play at this level is a good opportunity, so I’m looking forward to it.

“It’s a nice stadium and a nice place, so I just hope I can make my mark here. Hopefully I can come here and get a lot of goals and a lot of games.”
