Take a look at the statistics from the 2016/17 season

Shrewsbury Town’s Club Statistician Kevin Davies has been working hard throughout the season to keep tabs on this season’s statistics.

The most important stat of course is that Town finished 18th in League One with 51 points, but Kevin has put together some stats that you may not have known.

3 – Most goals scored without reply – against Barnet (FA Cup) and Middlesbrough (Checkatrade Trophy)

8 – Louis Dodds’ goal total in league games

9 – Number of loan players used (2 more than last season)

10 – Red Cards received (2 rescinded)

11 – The number of clean sheets kept in league games

13 – The number of league games in which we failed to score – we failed to score on the first and last day of the season for the first time since 2004/05

16 – The numer of players who contributed to the 56 goals in all competitions

22 – Players made their Town debut in the Football League – the highest since 24 in 2014/15

23 – Goals scored in league games in each half of the season

33 – Players used in league games (3 fewer than last season)

49 – The average time it took to score our opening goal in league games

101 – Bookings – the highest since 119 in 2002/03

121 – Substitutions made – 5 more than last season – equalling the all-time record set in 2007/08

5,505 – The average home attendance this season (98 up on last year)

126,620 – The number of people through the turnstiles for league games (2,248 more than 2015/16)
