Abu Ogogo Pre Peterborough United

Skipper looks ahead to Posh test

Shrewsbury Town Captain Abu Ogogo is looking to take Town’s impressive home form on the road when they take on Peterborough United on Saturday.

Town won their last two home games, scoring a late goal on Saturday to see off Fleetwood Town.

That result means that Shrewsbury are now unbeaten in 15 Sky Bet League One games and Ogogo admitted that it’s a pleasure to captain a winning side.

“It's nice”, Abu told ShrewsWeb.

“We are obviously top of the league and doing well at the minute, so it's nice to be captain at the minute.

“It was a great feeling to score so late. They'd come to frustrate us and you could tell early on that they had come to waste time and come for a point, so to see Toto's header go in was a relief.

“We want to win our home games. If we had lost the home games then people would be thinking that we should have picked up three points away, but winning the two home games makes the two away games good results now.”

Peterborough go into tomorrow’s game on the back of a five match winless run, but Abs is expecting a good game against a side that like to play attacking football.

“They are very expansive and they like to make the pitch big”, Ogogo said.

“They score a lot of goals but they also concede a lot of goals as well. Both teams like to play football, so it should be a good game, but hopefully we can go there and get the three points.

“Going forward they are very good, but when they go forward they leave gaps for you to exploit, so they can either beat you five-nil or you can beat them five-nil, so hopefully we are on the end of the right result.

“We want to get wins rather than draws. A draw away from home is never a bad result, but we will go there looking to get three points.”
