Morris looks back on Checkatrade victory
Shrewsbury Town midfielder Bryn Morris was delighted to get 90 minutes under his belt against West Brom Under-21s.
Tuesday night’s game was Bryn’s first appearance in nearly two months, after suffering a knee injury earlier in the season.
“It feels good to be back playing”, Bryn said.
“When you’ve put a lot of work in to get back and then you’ve played 90 minutes, it feels good and the knee feels fine.
“Physically I would have like a bit of a better test – it was a bit laid back – but it is what it is, we won and my knee’s fine.”
Goals from Lenell John-Lewis, Carlton Morris and Louis Dodds gave Town a comfortable victory and Bryn believes it was a positive performance.
“The Gaffer said that he would have liked us to punish them a bit”, said Morris.
“He wanted four or five goals and a clean sheet as well. We got three goals and kept a clean sheet, so it’s positive.”
The game also saw four Town players make their first-team debuts and Morris was pleased for them.
“It’s good for them to have a bit of involvement”, Bryn continued.
“I made my debut at 16 and it was a good experience. It’s nice for them to get on and hopefully it will give them a bit of a boost and drive them on to work even harder.”
