Hughes Goes Out On Loan

Young midfielder joins Colwyn Bay on loan

Shrewsbury Town are pleased to announce that George Hughes has joined Colwyn Bay on a month long loan deal.

Hughes progressed through the youth ranks with Town and captained the U18s last season.

He signed his first pro deal with the club over the summer and has been involved with the matchday squad on a number of times.

He was picked for the Checkatrade game with West Bromwich Albion and came on as a second half substitute.

Colwyn Bay currently sit mid table in the Evostick North and Town boss Paul Hurst believes it will be a good experience for George.

“I think Hughesy’s seen some of his teammates go out on loan to clubs and it was something that he was keen to do”, said Paul.

“I can’t knock the lads’ attitude in terms of wanting to go out and play. They aren’t worried about what league or what league position these clubs are in, they just want to go and play men’s football and try and help their development.”
