A look at how our young internationals got on
Young Shrewsbury Town Midfielder Chris Gallagher started all three of Northern Ireland’s UEFA Under-19 Championship games during the international break.
Gallagher’s side picked up just one point from their three games as they were beaten 2-1 by Poland, 7-1 by Germany and drew 0-0 with Belarus.
Poland hosted all three games and Chris, who signed his first professional deal with Town this summer, played the full ninety against Poland and Belarus, whilst he was substituted on 86 minutes against the Germans.
Meanwhile, Dean Henderson didn’t feature for England’s Under-21s this week as they beat Scotland 3-1 and Andorra 1-0.
Angus Gunn was favoured in goal for both matches as goals from Josh Onomah, Tammy Abraham and Dominic Solanke saw off Scotland, whilst Everton’s Tom Davies scored the only goal against Andorra.
