Big Crowd Expected

8 September 2017

Fan's advised to buy in advance and arrive early on Saturday

Town welcome Wigan Athletic to the Montgomery Waters Meadow on Saturday and a large crowd is expected to watch the game.

Town currently sit in second place in the Sky Bet League One, while Wigan are close by in fifth place.

The league season has started well for Town with victories against Northampton, AFC Wimbledon, Rochdale, Gillingham and a draw away to Oxford United.

Saturday will prove Town’s toughest test so far and CEO Brian Caldwell is hoping to see the largest home crowd of the season so far.

“The team have made a great start to the season and who would have thought when the fixtures came out that Saturday would be a top of the table clash”, said Brian.

“Paul, Chris and the staff have worked hard last season and over the summer to build their squad.  They have added the right type of players and so far we have played some exciting attacking football that has been great to watch.

“Wigan have sold their allocation so will have good backing and we need as many Town fans to be in the stadium to back their team.

“As of Thursday night total sales around the 6,000 mark so we are expecting a big crowd on Saturday.

“If you buy in advance you can beat the queues ahead of the game and the new fan card allows supporters to buy in advance and save money on the normal matchday admission prices.

“If you are coming down on Saturday give yourself a little extra time to get your tickets and if you are going in the County Group Stand use the ticket office behind the stand.

“There are great prices for families and for all Sky Bet League One games U8s are free for every game, every time.”

The ticket office at the Montgomery Waters Meadow is open until 5pm today and will reopen at 10am on Saturday.
