Henderson looks forward to taking on Rovers
Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Dean Henderson believes his loan spell is doing him the world of good.
Henderson joined in the summer from Manchester United and has been instrumental in Town’s unbeaten start to the League One season.
“I’m enjoying my football here”, Henderson told the Press.
“I’m enjoying my football the most I’ve ever enjoyed it. I’m playing every game, every week, in front of a good set of supporters, so it’s been excellent for me.
“Playing Saturday/Tuesday is excellent for my development. Playing in front of a good set of fans, wanting to win every week and being top of the league is nice.”
Town are currently the only side unbeaten in the Football League and Henderson believes the side have the right make-up to do well.
“We’ve got a bit of everything”, said Dean.
“We’ve got a bit of experience, a bit of youth, a bit of hunger – lads that want to prove a point. For example, I want to prove a point and show people why I’m in this position.
“Then you’ve got the experience of Sads (Mat Sadler) who’s been there, done it and got the t-shirt. Abs (Abu Ogogo) who leads by example and gives 110% every week, so everyone’s hungry to do better and get success from it.”
Doncaster are the opponents on Tuesday night and Dean says Town will be ready for a difficult test.
“It’s going to be tough a game”, admitted Henderson.
“The weekend was a good test for us, I think we should have taken more from the game and I was disappointed because it felt like a loss, but moving forward we are going to go there, give 110%, try our best and see what happens.
“We’re confident and we will be ready. We’ve left no stones unturned, so we are going to be ready like we are every week.”
