Fan Cards selling well

7 September 2017

Over 350 Fan Cards purchased in opening weeks

Over 350 Town fans have already bought Shrewsbury Town’s new Fan card.

The initiative was launched last month and allows you to purchase a game without the need of a physical ticket and save money on the ticket.

The card saves £2 for adults and £1 for concessions on every League One fixture, meaning an adult ticket works out at just £18 a game.

The scheme means that Shrewsbury Town’s prices are some of the cheapest in League One and CEO Brian Caldwell is delighted by how many people have bought a card already.

“It makes a lot of sense for those supporters that can’t justify a season ticket”, Brian told ShrewsWeb.

“I’ve spoken before about how important it is to look after different sets of supporters and for people that come to 6 to 10 games the fan card not only helps them save money, but also makes it easier for them to come to games.

“The fact that you can just load it on for games takes away the need for a ticket, takes away queueing and all you’re doing is getting an email with your ticket details.

“Hopefully it’s a good deal for supporters and gives a bit of loyalty as well. It’s not as cheap as the season ticket because the season ticket is very cheap, but hopefully this is a middle ground that gives other supporters an opportunity to save some money.

“It’s all about having options for people. We are providing more options for people and in many ways taking away any excuses from people that say they don’t want to watch Shrewsbury because they can’t be bothered queueing for a ticket.”

If you are interested in buying a fan card you can buy one from the ticket office or online https://www.eticketing.co.uk/shrewsburytownfc/memberships.aspx?findmembership=0
