Gaffer calls on fan support for game against Blackburn

Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Hurst has urged fans to come down to the Montgomery Waters Meadow for Town’s League One fixture with Blackburn this weekend.

A big crowd is already expected for the game, which pits table topping Town against former Premier League winners Blackburn Rovers.

Town have been in brilliant form so far this season, picking up 22 points from a possible 24 and Hurst is hopeful that more fans will want to get on board.

“It must be a good time to be a supporter”, Paul told ShrewsWeb.

“It’s a time where you can look forward to games. I’m sure there’s some supporters out there that are similar to myself and are maybe of the thinking that there is something round the corner that we aren’t going to like, but at the time same there’s probably a group of supporters that think we could take on Manchester City and Real Madrid and give them a good game.

“Something in between is probably right, but we want them to be part of it, we want them to enjoy what they are seeing and get behind the lads because I’m sure it will be a day when we will need their backing.”
