Brown looks ahead to his 101st Town appearance against Oldham
Shrewsbury Town Left-Back Junior Brown is expecting a difficult game when Town visit Oldham tomorrow afternoon.
Oldham have had a difficult start to the season, but have picked up four points from their last two games.
Meanwhile, Town are unbeaten this season and Junior expects Oldham will want to end that run.
“It’s always going to be difficult wherever you go”, Brown said.
“They’ve got some good experienced professionals. Anthony Gerrard is a wily old fox and he knows a few of the players that are here.
“They are going to want to get some more points and with us being top of the league they are going to want to prove a point and bring our winning run to an end.”
However, Brown believes Town will go into the game with confidence after they ground out a victory over Southend on Tuesday night, despite not being at their best.
“It was a difficult night of football and it wasn’t the most entertaining performance, but that’s going to happen over the season”, admitted Junior.
“That’s the sign of a good side when you are not playing well and you grind out a result, so we will go to Oldham full of confidence and we will be looking to win again.”
Meanwhile, the match against Oldham will be Junior’s 101st for Town after he brought up his century of games on Tuesday night and he admits he is hoping to add many more to that tally in the future.
“It’s a nice achievement, but something that I want to carry on improving on and play as many games as I can”, said Brown.
“In recent times this is the most settled I’ve been. When I came I never really thought about making 100 appearances, it was a just an opportunity I couldn’t really pass up to play League One football.
“I felt that I had a point to prove and that I was good enough to take the opportunity and I have done, and I want to push on in the future.”
