Shrewsbury Town Defender Toto Nsiala is looking forward to testing himself against of the best players in the division when Town take on Wigan Athletic tomorrow.
Wigan were relegated from the Championship last season and their side includes the likes of Will Grigg, Nick Powell and Michael Jacobs.
“We haven’t kept a clean-sheet for the last two or three games, so that’s something we will be looking to put right very soon”, Nsiala told the Press.
“I’ve been speaking to Doigy about the two centre-halves, whether that’s me and Sad or Omar, to be the rock in the middle.
“We’ve got a good backbone to the team with me, Sads, Deano, Ben in the middle and Carlton who’s leading the line, so everyone’s doing the defensive work, working really hard and we’ve got a good team at the moment.”
Wigan have conceded just two goals so far this season and Nsiala believes it will be Town’s toughest test to date.
“I don’t know much about this Wigan team I must admit, but the Gaffers told us that they will be a high tempo team”, said Toto.
“They like to get the ball down and try and play, a bit like us, so it’s going to be a battle over who the best football team is and I’m hoping it will be us.
“It will be our toughest test up until now just because of the size of the club and the players they’ve got in. They’ve got some really good players, so it will be a really tough test for us.”
Despite the difficulty of the game, Toto is looking forward to seeing how far the club have come from last season.
“You always want to test yourselves”, admitted Nsiala.
“Going into this game last season many people wouldn’t have expected us to have any chance, so we want to see how far we’ve come against these type of teams and I’m really looking forward to it.”
