Eisa's thoughts after his first goal in Town colours
Town’s draw against Bury has guaranteed the Shrews a third place finish and a spot in Play-Offs at least.
Abo Eisa’s first half strike from outside the box secured the vital point for Town.
Making his full debut for the club, Eisa capitalised on the chance and scored his first goal for the club and was pleased to make an impact, he said: “I’m glad, I always pictured this moment.
“I was playing Non-League a couple of months ago, and now to score on my debut in league one is a surreal feeling and a surreal moment.
“It was a good start and hopefully there is many more to come. I don’t think words could do it justice. It was relief, excitement and all those emotions mixed into one.
“I have always been a confident person. It helps to go and get that goal and now I can move on and try and score more.
“I like training every single day, I’m improving and I’m enjoying life at the moment, hopefully it will continue.”
Despite scoring and Town having a good first half, Eisa feels that there is still room for improvement for the team, he said: “I think first half we did ok and did well to manage the game. Second half we should have pressed them more and we didn’t.
“We gave them too much respect and they were able to pick passes. Sometimes we were a bit slow but I guess we have to just move on as soon as possible.”
Eisa knows what is at stake with the remaining games, whether that is Play-Offs or otherwise, he said: “Our main objective is to get into the championship. We need to start building up momentum right now. The last couple of results weren’t what we wanted but we need to build the momentum to go into the Play-Offs with good confidence.
“The main objective is to win whether I’m playing or not, it’s the team first. I do want to play and help the team so if I am involved that’s great.”
