Caldwell On Season Ticket Sales

Early Bird season tickets sale pass the 3000 mark

Shrewsbury Town are delighted to announce season ticket sales have now surpassed the 3000 mark and are now 30% up on last years sales at this time.

Brian Caldwell is pleased at the large backing from the Town fans and is delighted at how the numbers are progressing now that the first early bird period is over, Caldwell said: “Delighted to get over the 3000 mark, we are well ahead of where we were this time last year.  I think the kids one’s, the under 12’s and young adult one’s have gone down really well.

“I’m absolutely delighted with the numbers, we have been open all weekend selling season tickets. People have been doing it online but it has been a steady stream for the hours we have been open on Saturday and Sunday.

“I’m delighted that so many have renewed and backed the team for next season, hopefully it’s going to be another successful one. I think everybody can see how we have moved on in the last 12 months.

‘The fact that this time last year we were scrambling for 50 points and here we are on 82 points already ahead of the next few games.

“Friday was quite a busy day and Saturday and Sunday, I think it was worthwhile opening for the four hours we did each day and we are grateful to the staff for giving up their time to do that at the weekend.

“We’re delighted that there has been a steady stream on the Saturday and Sunday mornings.”

Caldwell was pleased at the number of young supporters who are joining the clubs fan base for the 2018/19 season, he said: “It’s really important for us as a football club that we continue to attract young people here to the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

“We have got a team we should all be proud of, they have come on leaps and bounds in the last 12 months. With safe standing happening as well, we’re hoping to bring through the next generation of young Shrewsbury fans, hopefully along with the under 12 season ticket.

“55 pound up until they’re 18 and then at 19-23 there is a discount as well. We need to try and work hard to encourage young people to come along. Jamie Edwards and his team in the community are working hard and engaging a lot with young people, which is great. Hopefully we can get them to come along for the game and then they become season ticket holders for the future.”

Although the first early bird period is over, Caldwell feels the pricing structure still gives value for money for the Town fans, he said: “It’s still good value for money, despite putting the adult and concession price up £15, I think everyone can hopefully see what we are trying to do and see the success of the team. For the numbers to still go up after there has been a slight rise in the cost of the season ticket, we are delighted.”

2018/19 Season Tickets are still available at the second Early Bird rate which is still a big saving on the normal match prices.
