Caldwell On Supporters Awards Evening

17 April 2018

CEO Brian Caldwell on the upcoming supporters awards evening

The end of the season awards are fast approaching and they start first with the Supporter’s Awards on Tuesday the 1st of May.

Brian Caldwell is pleased at the work the Supporters Parliament has put in towards improving the event and expects a good night for the Town fans, he said: “I think we have to thank Roger Groves, Mike Davis especially and Helen as well who have been really actively involved.

“I think it was really important for everybody that Chris Smith’s legacy who ran these supporters awards nights every year carries on.

“Unfortunately since he passed away, we needed somebody to take on the mantle and Roger is leading on it and we are grateful for him.

“At the end of the day, we all want it to be a good night. He has been liaising with all the supporters groups to make sure they get out of it what they want as well.

“I’m sure with all the success of the team this year that the event will be well attended. Tickets will be snapped up and it will be a sell out.”

Caldwell has already seen the improvements made for the event and is pleased that the Supporters Parliament will get an event to match the success of the team’s season, he said: “Two years ago when I came here it was a bit of a disaster that year unfortunately and I did vow at the Supporters Parliament meeting that we would do it better the following year.

“Last year, Paul had all the squad there last year and the intention is to have them all there this year. I would expect more or less a full squad there on the first of May.”
