Jon Nolan pre Charlton Athletic

Jon Nolan looks ahead to tonight's game with Charlton Athletic

Town’s next game is against Charlton Athletic in the Sky Bet League One and Town will be looking to keep pushing for a promotion place.

Town previously played Bradford City away, securing a point for the Shrews. Town will be looking to use that momentum to gain all three points against The Addicks.

Jon Nolan feels the point at Bradford keeps his side in the promotion race and gives Town some momentum heading into the game against Charlton, he said: “I think we are still in there. Obviously seeing the results from Saturday we have definitely, definitely got to win on Tuesday now. We can’t rely on anyone slipping up; we have got to take it into our own hands really.

“We have got to go into all the games now looking for maximum points really to stand any chance of the top two. It was a bit of a fortress here the first half of the season.

“We have got to use the home advantage, hopefully the fans come out in their numbers and get behind us. Three home games on the spin… we have to go and get nine points.”

Nolan was included in the Sky Bet League One team of the season. Whilst the centre midfielder was pleased, he feels he owes his thanks to the team around him, he said: “It’s good to get the recognition obviously, but if it wasn’t for the team we would have no chance.

“We have had an unbelievable season, collectively, no individuals really but as I said it’s good to get that recognition.”

Nolan also feels the management has had a big role in the midfielder’s progression, he said: “I knew coming here with the gaffer and Doigy that we would have no problem. I know last season they only stayed up with a couple of games to go but I was confident with those two that it wouldn’t be like that.

“Although we couldn’t see ourselves pushing Blackburn and Wigan the whole way and being this close to the top two with four games to go. Four games to go and four massive cup finals.”
