A look at how our players are getting on away from the club
Ryan Sears enjoyed a superb weekend with Newtown as he picked up the Players’ Player of the Season Award at the Robins’ end of season awards event. The event was held on the same day as Newtown’s 3-0 victory over Prestatyn where Sears was joined by fellow loanee Callum Roberts in the backline. Former Town striker Ethan Jones grabbed a brace, whilst Kieran Mills-Evans rounded off the scoring late on. It means that Newtown are now second in the bottom half of the Welsh Premier League Table – 8th overall.
George Hughes’ loan spell at Clitheroe has come to an end following their 5-1 defeat away at Colwyn Bay. It wasn’t the way that Hughes would have wanted to have bowed out, but the young midfielder has enjoyed a productive spell in Lancashire, playing almost every minute over the last few months. Hughes leaves Clitheroe in 12th place in the Evo Stick Division One North.
Finally, AJ Letich-Smith came on for the final five minutes as Dundee eased their relegation worries with a 2-1 win over St Johnstone. Leitch-Smith was on the pitch as Sofien Moussa scored two minutes from time – his second of the game – to secure all three points. Dundee are now five points clear of the drop with four games remaining.
