Beckles looks ahead to Blackpool trip

Shrewsbury Town Defender Omar Beckles is looking to put on a good show for the 2000+ Town fans that are making the trip to Blackpool on Saturday.

Town got themselves back to winning ways on Tuesday night as a second-half comeback gave them a 3-1 victory over Peterborough United and Beckles hopes to continue the momentum on Saturday.

“It’s always good to be winning games, especially off the cuff of losing a few and a few bad performances”, said Omar.

“There definitely was a dip and I guess since the Lincoln game it’s been quite flat at times, but now I feel like we are turning a corner and it’s good for the confidence of the lads that haven’t been getting games.

“We’ve always been a squad with players that can do their bit when called upon, so it’s good to see Stef getting a goal, Lenny getting his goal as well, Bryn I thought was outstanding, Craig kept us in the game late on, Max has been really good since he’s come in, Eisa in the last couple of games has really stood out, so it was good to see it come together as a collective.”

The trip to Bloomfield Road will be Town’s biggest following of the season and Omar believes it’s important to repay the fans for their support over the whole campaign.

“It’s always nice to have a good set of travelling fans and they have been outstanding for us throughout the season, so it will be good to end it on a high for them”, Beckles said.

“For us it’s still about getting as many points as possible because for us to look back and say that we got over the ninety mark would be good.

I guess it’s always good to go to somewhere like Blackpool and it can be a good day out, but more so for the fans than it is for us because we’ve still got to wrap are heads around the Play-Offs, but we hope that it’s a really good day out for the fans so that they can enjoy their weekend and embrace it all.”
