Supporters Parliament looking to create the Blue Amber Army
The Shrewsbury Town Supporters Parliament have been in discussion with the club on how to encourage and drive the atmosphere in the new Safe Standing area.
The Supporters Parliament and Club want to see flags, banners and drums in the area to create a great atmosphere in the new Salop Leisure Stand Safe Standing area.
SP spokesman Mike Davis and the Supporters Parliament are in discussions with the club on how to make this possible, he said: “We have had a lot of discussion in the last couple of weeks with the football club and we are working on a project to try and get something sorted out soon.
“We will hopefully have information which will involve flags, drums, banners and all sorts so watch this space.
“The feedback from the people in blocks 18 and 19 wanted a singing block. We have certainly seen from Charlton away and the Yeovil game that noise from behind the goal seems to spread around a lot better. So we want as many people in the Safe Standing area as possible. So we are going to help them create an atmosphere.
“It’s something me and Roger approached the club about, making that a really vocal area and to be fair to the football club, they have backed us a 100%, Brian has been absolutely brilliant with it.
“We are looking at flags, drums and banners. We’re looking at the whole works over there. Hopefully we can create a really good area and a really good atmosphere.
“You look how far we have come, both on and off the pitch so far this season. No one would have dreamt at the beginning season that we would be sat in third and I don’t think anybody would have dreamt we would be in a position where we are the first club to have safe standing. It’s a really positive time to be a Town fan.”
