Safe Standing Set For Installation

23 April 2018

Rail seats have arrived and set for installation

Shrewsbury Town and the Supporters Parliament are pleased to announce that the Safe Standing rail seats have arrived and plans are well underway with arranging the installation.

The 550 rail seats have now arrived in the country with Ferco now planning for installation. A provisional date has been set and the units will be installed after the last home game of the season.

Mike Davis, spokesman for the Supporters Parliament, said he was pleased that the work can soon get underway now the units have arrived. He said: “The Units are here and ready to go in. We’re looking at the last home game of the season, whether that is after the last league game of the season, or after any possible play off game.

We have a proposed installation start day of the 17th May, as long as it’s done before any promotion is finally confirmed, which is done at the EFL conference. We’re good to go.”

Due to Town guaranteeing themselves a Play-Off spot, the installation has had to be delayed, as a two-week period is needed to clear out the current seats to make way for the Safe Standing area. Mike Davis is pleased that has now been resolved and the units can be installed. He said: “All along it has been about finding a slot for installation. It’s been an amazing season and that has contributed to us having to move it back.

“We have had a few little things that we needed to confirm with the Safety Advisory Group, but we are all good to go now.”

The Safe Standing units will be installed in the Salop Leisure stand.
