Mat Sadler Pre Bradford City

3 August 2018

Sadler looks ahead to the season opener

Shrewsbury Town host Bradford City at the Montgomery Waters Meadow this Saturday as The Sky Bet League One Season gets underway.

Saturdays game will kick off Sadler’s third season with Shrewsbury after signing in January 2015.

Sadler is looking forward to the challenge that newly formed Bradford City bring to the Meadow.

“It’s a massive game on Saturday” Sadler told Shrewsweb. “There should be a good buzz about the place with safe standing introduced for the first time.”

“Like I say every season, if as many fans can get down to the ground as possible, get the place rocking with the band at the back of the stand to make it a real carnival atmosphere”

Now a veteran at the club Sadler admits he enjoys every first game of each season more and more.

“First games great in that you can get that little more attention from all of your Family, Friends and Fans, than you normally do as the season progresses.”

“We’re more than ready, training has been great. We’re looking forward to laying down a marker against a fantastic team in Bradford.”

Bradford’s Head Coach Michael Collins will make his debut on Saturday, after being promoted from Bradfords U18’s side.

“We expect them to come at us on the front foot from the start. They are always a tough team”

“Let’s hope it’s some sort of celebration off the back of a great season. We haven’t seen the fans properly since then. Come and support us. There is still a good group of players here desperate to achieve.”
