Bryn Morris joins Wycombe Wanderers on-loan

Shrewsbury Town can confirm that Bryn Morris has joined Wycombe Wanderers on-loan until January.

The 22-year-old midfielder featured 30 times in all competitions last season, but wasn’t in the 18-man squad for the opening day defeat to Bradford City.

He joins fellow League One side Wycombe Wanderers, who won promotion last season under the stewardship of Gareth Ainsworth.

ShrewsWeb caught up with John Askey to discuss Bryn’s temporary departure.

“It’s just to get him games really”, said John.

“Obviously we’ve brought in one or two midfield players and he needs games. He didn’t play as many games as he would have liked last year and he didn’t want to be in the same position, so it’s as simple as that really.

“Bryn’s a good lad and he’s trained really hard during pre-season, so obviously he didn’t want that to go to waste by not playing. It gives me a chance to have a look at him as well in the same league.”

Bryn wasn’t in the plans at the start of the campaign, but John was quick to point out that they door isn’t closed on the former England youth star.

“You are always looking for people to show you what they can do”, said Askey.

“At the moment that wasn’t the case, but he has got a lot of ability and it wouldn’t surprise me if he goes there and does well, which hopefully will be the case as long as it’s not to detriment of Shrewsbury.

“You are always looking for people doing well and if he does that then hopefully we can get him back in and he can improve us.”

Bryn won't be available for the game between Shrewsbury Town and Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 24th November.
